Chocolate Tours
Join me and cookbook author Susan Loomis at her home, On Rue Tatin, for a Three-Day Chocolate Indulgence. Located just one hour from Paris, in picturesque Normandy, we’ll spend our days in Susan’s professionally-equipped kitchen cooking and baking away, with a special emphasis on everyone’s favorite ingredient—chocolate!
You’ll participate in daily hands-on cooking classes, learning techniques and the secrets of great French country cooking and baking. Aside from whipping up classic and modern French chocolate desserts, we’ll also have a guided chocolate tasting to learn how to evaluate chocolate, plus a wine tasting with Hervé Lestage.
There will be focused tastings to increase your appreciation of the spectacular bounty of France, including olive oils, salts, and Calvados, as well as during a visit to a splendid country market that dates back to medieval times.
Our class begins on Sunday, November 16-19, 2008, with dinner by the fire in Susan’s beautifully-restored country home. Then we’ll spend our time cooking, baking, and dining. This culinary adventure will last three days, perfect for combining with a trip to Paris.
